Sitting Pretty

It may come as a shock to you if you know me solely based on Twitter alone, but I really do not identify myself as a girly girl. Stop laughing, it's true. I've only semi-recently gotten in to wearing makeup every day, I hate the color pink, I think dresses are only good for covering up swimsuits and when it's really hot out, and I have no clue how to properly accessorize.

That being said... I love to feel "pretty". What girl doesn't? There is some sense of deep gratification of being able to look in the mirror before you leave and KNOWING you look beautiful, even if you might not have felt it before. It's a powerful thing. That's why I love makeup; it helps me put on the confidence that I might not have otherwise had.

There is a saying; Beauty is only skin deep, but Ugly is to the bone. I could not agree more. I can think of so many beautiful looking people that are rotten to the core. It's as though they forget who they are when they are behind that mask, or assume no one can see past it.

I would like to be beautiful, but I want to be known more for being a beautiful person on the inside. I want to be thought of as the caring, compassionate, humble, loving, funny, crazy, weirdo, best friend and/or sister you never had. I believe that being a good person makes for a beautiful person.

Go out of your way to be that beautiful person and let it shine. You won't even need that trendy lipgloss.

The Crazy That Is My Life...

This must be the seventh or eighth blog I've started... just throwing it out there. I have the attention span of a small rodent when it comes to blogging. I really like the concept, but I always get swept up and lose the momentum. Alas, I have far too many things to say and far too many of those things don't belong on a NickStar twitter.
